The Thornfield Letters by D. Hargreaves
When D. Hargreaves first submitted a 142,000-word epistolary novel, two agents had already passed with notes about structural pacing. Our developmental edit identified seventeen narrative threads that could be consolidated into nine without losing the polyphonic voice. Over fourteen weeks, we worked through three structural revisions, a line edit, and two proofreading passes. The manuscript was picked up by a mid-tier literary press within five months of completion.
The key challenge wasn't the prose — it was helping the author see which letters carried the story and which were beautiful digressions. We preserved the voice while tightening the architecture.

Case II — Business Non-Fiction
Distributed Trust: Governance for the Next Decade
A governance consultant with twenty-two years of board experience had accumulated 80,000 words of draft material across conference papers, blog posts, and half-finished chapters. Our role was architectural: we mapped the existing material, identified gaps, proposed a chapter structure, and then ghostwrote three bridging chapters to unify the voice. The cover design, typesetting, and ISBN registration were handled in-house.
Total time from engagement to printed copies: six months. The book launched at a governance conference in Edinburgh and sold 1,200 copies in the first quarter through direct and trade channels.

Case III — Personal Memoir
A Small Life, Loudly Lived
This was a private commission — a family memoir intended for 50 printed copies, not for trade. The author, in her late seventies, had handwritten notebooks spanning four decades. We transcribed, organised, and sensitively edited the material into a 220-page illustrated memoir. Our design team created a cloth-bound hardcover with tipped-in family photographs.
